First Baptist Church Leesburg: Website Proposal

Introduction

When it comes to websites there is one big question that takes precedence over any other…

”What needs to go on the Website?”

The information we have to give and share can be overwhelming in quantity and scope, but a lot of it is necessary to exist in an accessible way. A website can house any amount of information, but the most important element of a website’s usefulness is its user experience.

I believe the most beneficial step forward for FBC Leesburg would be an audit of the existing structure of web/digital communications to consolidate the overall communications approach so that this multi-campus church maximizes what it brings to its members and the community.

Web Development Experience with

Process Proposal

  • An in-person meeting to determine the needs and desires of the FBCL website development project and overhaul. This in-person discussion allows for the necessary voices to be heard, and a collaborative direction to be taken.

Live discussion and immediate feedback in this format ensure the process and expectations are clear from the start. This allows for a learning opportunity for those on the staff involved to learn about web design and gain an understanding of what effort design and maintenance involve. This will ultimately help the staff know how to provide information and requests for site updates and help the staff decide what platform and structure to use to best meet the church’s needs

  • Platforms for websites vary, but can be summarized in three ways…

    Extensive

    Moderate

    Limited

While each platform holds value in different ways, it’s hard to find the best solution without exploring the core needs of the design and goal of the church website.

Following the consultation and learning seminar, we will be able to make an informed decision on the direction the FBCL website shall go.

  • Once a platform and approach is agreed upon by the staff and parties involved, web development can begin.

The more unified, consolidated, and simple approach the team can develop, the better results the web development can and will have.

Summary & Pricing

My proposal for First Baptist Leesburg is not just a list of services or items to pay for. I believe there is a larger need here that deserves attention to the overall communications approach before the website can be overhauled. I believe FBCL can benefit largely by taking time to assess the trajectory of the church, plan accordingly, and execute a digital presence, rather than pay for it multiple times down the road.

The options listed below provides the available services I can offer to update the FBCL website.

I recommend the Proposal Option: Communications Overhaul based on the amount of services offered and the flexibility it contains to maximize developing a digital presence that is sustainable and usable for FBCL now and in the future.

These items are a separate cost from the proposal.
